Song Bird:
Jen doesn’t brag but she is a karaoke fiend. The office divulges she can’t get enough of the mic on nights out. Give her a little Mustang Sally or Bon Jovi and she is there. Don’t be fooled either she is actually pretty good. If only the rest of the office could get a turn!

Viva Las Vegas:
If it was possible Jen would be there every weekend. Vegas is her favorite city and the perfect place to relax and escape. You can usually find her at the MGM, most likely at the blackjack tables. That is if she’s not checking out a Vegas show or partaking in the spa.

Roughing It:
During the summer you will often find Jen camping out in Burt’s island. Cup Match festivities and camping go hand in hand for her. Jen camps in style and has even mastered cooking breakfast for over twenty people. However, her terms of “roughing it” include a full kitchen, bathrooms, showers, and of course a coffee maker.

Lindsay Amerault // Art Director

Joined the Team: October 2011
Education: Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design // Art History Minor from the University of Florida
Masters of Arts Broadcast Design & Motion Graphics from Savannah College of Art & Design

Background:
Having completed both a Bachelor of fine arts and a Masters of arts broadcast design & motion graphics, Lindsay Amerault gained her considerable experience in the field of graphic design and animation while taking on key roles at prominent organisations throughout the U.S.

Lindsay has worked for RAD Adventures (a noted restaurant group in Florida), ESPN, and most recently acted as Art Director for the New York Knicks in Manhattan.

Looking for a change to the fast-paced Manhattan lifestyle, Lindsay decided to move to Bermuda, where she joined the emedia team in October of 2011.

From managing and inspiring the in-house creative team, ‘hands-on’ design work, video production and project coordination, Lindsay’s responsibilities as Art Director involve overseeing all aspects of emedia’s graphic and creative services. Lindsay thoroughly enjoys the challenge of approaching each new design problem with fresh & original ideas. She proves to be an integral part in the development of original and effective marketing strategies for each of our clients.

Lindsay possesses extensive experience in her field, a positive attitude and a keen eye, making her an invaluable member of the emedia team.

These boots are made for walking
Over the years, Lindsay’s love for quality design has translated into an almost certainly expensive fixation: shoes. Lindsay estimates that she currently owns as many as 200 pairs of shoes, though she is dismayed that she was unable to bring the vast collection with her to the Island :(

All thumbs!
Due to a gymnastic injury sustained at the age of 10, Lindsay sports one thumb slightly shorter than the other. The oddity has not seemed to affect Lindsay’s skills on a mouse, her choice of gloves or how she wields a TV remote, but she is certainly at a disadvantage should matters come down to a thumb war.

The writing on the wall…
As a child, Lindsay’s early interest in art and design often landed her in heaps of trouble with her parents. Many of the houses she and her family occupied received several ‘artistic improvements’ to their walls. While they were surely beautiful works, the permanent markers used to create them did cost the Amerault family a security deposit or two!

Jacqueline Ward // Public Relations Manager

Joined the Team: February 2012
Education: Public Relations Diploma with Distinction from Conestoga College in Waterloo, Ontario.

Background: Another hospitality survivor, Jacquie spend many years in the trenches as a Bartender before starting her career in Public Relations.

Having interned a number of times with emedia since it’s creation, it was only natural for her to develop a zest for communications. Relatively new to the field Jacquie gained an impressive amount of experience during her studies.

Between her courses and various internships, she was able to work on a number of projects for real clients and organizations. She has developed a remarkable portfolio as well as a passion for what she does.

Usually a resident in Toronto, Jacquie joined emedia in February 2012 as our Public Relations Manager. Already familiar with our clients and work, she was a natural fit here at Emedia

As Public Relations Manager, Jacquie is responsible for providing our clients with a variety of public relations services. Focused on providing effective and unique PR she manages all media relations, social media, event planning, internal or external communications, copywriting, and strategic communication planning.

Her creative ideas combined with her comprehensive PR add an extra umph to emedia’s already great services. Taking her skills with customer relations and combining them with a creative outlook and passionate writing Jacquie brings a unique eye to our team.

Travel Bug:
Jacquie has been hit bad! Having backpacked for five years around the world after high school she can’t get enough. Still under thirty she’s already been to over 35 countries.  It’s hard for her to pick which was her favourite. She says just give her a hostel and a guidebook and she’s good to go.

Bucket list Bandit:
After watching an MTV show, Jacquie decided to take on life with both hands. Throwing herself into an adventure fiesta, she’s taking on her bucketlist one escapade at a time. Already completing a terrifying bobsled track, holding a baby lion and yes, even skinny-dipping she still has a lot more to go.

Dancing Queen:
Now we don’t want to use the word “spastic”, but Jacquie’s dancing style does use a ridiculous amount of hand movement.  The term crumping has been used to describe her dance moves. However that doesn’t stop her from hitting the dance floor.  She insists when she gets going it’s hard to resist not dancing with her.

Kiona Estravit // Account Manager

Joined the Team: July 2012
ExperienceClose to 20 years of working in retail, publishing, sales and marketing/advertising.
Background: After an extended jaunt to Guatemala, Kiona first began working in the retail sector as a buyer. With a passion for fashion and the drive for sales, she enjoyed the challenges of keeping and growing market share in an extremely competitive market. During this period, Kiona gained many skills — particularly in sales, customer and vendor relationships, marketing, PR and advertising. The significant impact that these elements can have on revenue, also made a strong impression. After successes with retailers such as Gibbons Company, The Edge and Marks & Spencer, Kiona stepped away from retail and into publishing with Bermuda Homes and Gardens Magazine.  For seven years, she was an editor and photographer for the popular magazine.

Not only did Bermuda Homes and Gardens expose Kiona to other facets of marketing and advertising, it also honed her photography, writing, and creative skills.

Kiona joined emedia in July 2012 after working with Brown & Co, and most recently, Bermuda Media. When asked about the career shift, she responded, “I am very excited to join emedia particularly during this time of change for the industry. With social media and online advertising and publishing gaining in strength by the minute — there are so many different kinds of media to be creative with!”

Don’t I know you…?
Through the years Kiona has freelanced in a variety of capacities: model, radio voice, photographer, writer, copywriter and tv presenter. (She’s the girl on the Venetian on Look TV… ssshhhh!)

Holly Hobby
With about 10 projects on the go at one time, it would be an understatement to say that Kiona has varied interests. Currently, she is working on a pantomime, botanical painting, improving her Spanish, learning Illustrator, shooting for her next photography show, re-reading Lord of the Rings for the 6th time and redecorating her living room.

Nathan Atcheson // Account Manager

Background: Upon completing a Bachelor’s degree in English, Nathan took his writing and creative skills into the marketing arena.  Having secured a Junior Associate position at a Bermudian Marketing firm, Nathan honed his skills in all aspects of marketing, communications and event management.

After taking a leading role in major advertising campaigns, and Bermuda’s 400th Anniversary celebrations, Nathan took a short hiatus from the wide world of marketing to try his hand at teaching.  Joining the faculty at a local school for boys, Nathan enjoyed the change of pace and challenge posed by the educational, and relational, side of teaching.

Play that funky music:
A total music lover, Nathan spends a lot of his free time playing piano or guitar.  When rocking out at home isn’t enough he’s even been known to get up on stage with a band or two.  Loving all types of music, he doesn’t stop at just strumming a guitar, you can find him mixing as a DJ in many local nightclubs.

Put your foot through it:
Growing up in Bermuda, Nathan, like many other before him, developed an affinity for football (soccer for our North American friends).  Having played in youth leagues as a youngster, Nathan continues to enjoy the game, playing at least twice a week for local teams, and having even established a club of his own.

A helping hand:
Nathan grew up in a philanthropic environment, with this mother spearheading numerous local charities and efforts.  These days she is the Director of a home for street children in Uganda.  Nathan shares a similar heart, and has himself been to Uganda numerous times to help with the founding and running of the home.
