Bermuda Health Council's Matters in Healthcare

Last month kicked off with the exciting launch of the Bermuda Health Council's new Matters in Healthcare feature in the Bermuda Sun. The column will give members of the public the chance to submit queries online to the BHeC concerning Bermuda's healthcare system, and have them addressed publicly in every Friday's edition of the Sun.

This new initiative should prove to be an effective two-way communication tool for BHeC, allowing them to better gauge public concerns and opinions, as well as to provide information about Bermuda's healthcare system to a broad audience.

emedia was delighted to take the lead on the Matters in Healthcare project. With many different marketing, public relations, design and web components required, everyone on the emedia team was able to contribute. Our main responsibilities included coordinating any and all advertising tactics, liaising between the Bermuda Sun and BHeC, and implementing the online forms and functionality needed for questions to be submitted. On an ongoing basis, emedia has taken on the task of facilitating the question submission process, as well as preparing each week's submission for publication in the Sun.

Projects like Matters in Healthcare, involving cooperation with multiple organisations, are among our favourites at emedia. We're excited to see the success of the Matters in Healthcare column, and look forward to participating in other unique campaigns for the rest of our clients in the near future!

Look for the Matters in Healthcare feature in every Friday's Bermuda Sun, and submit questions you may have about our Island's healthcare system to the Bermuda Health Council by visiting www.bhec.bm

Employee Spotlight: Susan Simons

emedia graphic designer Susan Simons is no stranger to a jam-packed schedule, and the last two months have proved to be just that. Susan has recently been knee-deep in projects, including a series of print ads for Central Filing as well as Bermuda Gas, and web banners for the new Matters in Healthcare supplement (now featured weekly in the Bermuda Sun). Also in the mix: a very extensive, super-secret website project that cannot yet be revealed. We'd tell you, but then we'd have to kill you...

To Susan's delight, she has recently gotten the chance to work on one of her favourite aspects of graphic design: creating logos. Bermuda's newest reinsurance company, Safe Harbor Re, Ltd. selected emedia to create both their new logo as well as corporate stationery. The opportunity to create a new corporate identity is something every graphic designer jumps at. As Susan explains, however, these types of projects are not without their difficulties.

"I was challenged with this logo. Since Bermuda is home to so many reinsurance firms, I felt the need to make this company's logo really stand out from the rest. I made sure to do extensive research on their competition, and in the end the client was super excited about seeing the logo and stationery I created for them." Says Susan.

Make sure to keep an eye out for Susan's handiwork, both online and in print, and check out next month's emedia newsletter to see even more of Susan's creations.
