emedia Spreading Its Wings

AFTER JUST one year in business, emedia, a media design company, is spreading its wings. The company has moved its base from the Cobbs Hill home office of founder Colin Murdoch to new facilities next door. It has also taken on one additional staff member and has solidified its working relationship with Web designer and illustrator Mike Hind.

Local businesses have seen what the power of the Internet can do for their bottom line. This has kept emedia primarily focused on designing Web sites.

But Murdoch, who owns emedia with his partner Jennifer Ward, told the Bermuda Sun that E-media clients were beginning to view the company as a one-stop shop for an array of design services.

"I’m finding that’s how things are going — where you can get in doing the Web site and then take over in other areas," said Murdoch. "That’s usually better anyway because obviously you can make a more cohesive marketing plan." For example, he added, emedia’s work on the Web site for Kodak evolved into additional contracts for print and radio ads.

Libby Cook, former Bermuda Sun account executive, has been taken on as a full-time graphic designer.

And illustrator Mike Hind, who recently incorporated his own company, StickStuff, is now sharing space in the new premises.
