Joined the Team:
January 2011
Education:
Advanced Diploma in Public Relations from the NSCC in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia
Experience:
Michael spent four years in Nova Scotia completing his degree and during that time he was able to work on various PR projects for a variety of different clients and companies. He first joined the emedia, in May 2010, to complete a six-week internship, giving him the opportunity gain experience in the local Bermuda market.
After a brief stint as a freelance writer, Michael found a home at emedia after a chance meeting with Jennifer landed him a job.
Although relatively new in the field, Michael has developed an impressive portfolio, having worked on numerous projects in Bermuda as well as Canada. Already familiar with our clients and work, Michael was the perfect addition to the emedia team when he joined in January 2011.
As Public Relations Manager, Michael is responsible for providing our clients with a variety of PR activities. With his unique and fresh outlook he is responsible for media relations, event management, internal & external communications, issues management and the implementation of PR strategies while ensuring a seamless integration of all PR activities with a client’s current marketing and advertising initiatives.
He is an enthusiastic and creative individual, who brings a healthy array of skill sets to the table.
Don’t call me a momma’s boy!
While his brother chose the path of their father by pursuing dentistry, Michael has followed in his Mother’s footsteps, who currently oversees marketing and public relations at Bacardi Ltd.
Where everybody knows your name:
Michael’s first job was bussing tables at the Swizzle Inn at Baileys Bay. Working 6 consecutive summers he perfected his social and networking skills. While no one would describe Michael as the most skilled server in the world, he was well liked by all, giving him a good start as a PR pro.
Recreational ADD:
A self purported ‘jack of all trades’, Michael likes to tinker and dabble in a wide variety of muses and pastimes. Some of these include photography, videography, graphic design, creative writing, playing guitar, poker, boating, spear fishing, and amateur flair bartending. He also fancies himself a bit of a film and music buff, a decent lacrosse stick handler, mixed martial arts fan and most of all a snappy dresser. Yeah we weren’t kidding with the ADD...
