In December of 2011, The Bermuda Monetary Authority launched an brand new education initiative meant to serve as a comprehensive resource for the public. The ‘Know before you go’ project informs the public about the BMA’s role and functions, as well as how you as a consumer can make sure your interests are being properly looked after when dealing with various financial institutions on the Island.
The Authority enlisted the emedia team to oversee the many components that made up the project, including a dedicated website, web banner advertisements, informational brochure and several different radio ads.
Since the initiative was aimed at the general public, it fell to emedia to translate the BMA’s key messages into laymen’s terms; a challenging task given the often complicated legal and financial matters the BMA deals with. This simplified copy was then used as the basis for the rest of the initiative’s elements, both print and web-based.
Art Director Lindsay Amerault and Graphic Designer Susan Simons were charged with the creation of the project’s website, web banners and brochure. It was a challenge to produce a visual style that was unique, yet still identifiable as a product of the Bermuda Monetary Authority. Their efforts resulted in a approachable, modern look using the recognisable ‘BMA’ colour scheme and a twist on their traditional design elements to tie into their existing branding.
At emedia, we jump at the chance to work on projects that involve a variety of different components. With research, branding, web development, copywriting and print production, the ‘Know before you go’ campaign gave us a great opportunity to showcase the diversity of our services and our team.
